Hmm 8th attempt at posting...
On all my VW Passat/Quantum/Santana combinations Estate/Hatchback/Saloon 
models...When a headlight blew the mainbeam blue/yellow LED came on 
(mainbeam or dip)
I made an injector tester with a spare VE TD pump ...cranked with a ratchet 
initially then modified with a handle... Could test /compare 4 at a time
