Agreed, the only difference is the pickup. A TD pump
does have a different part number and pumps more oil,
rumor has it. I can confirm different part numbers as
I have both, 1.6TD and 1.6NA pumps.
I wanted to buy a new pickup for my 1.9na project 2
years ago but had to buy the whole pump and pickup.
My pickup was scored pretty good.
I have a brand new pump if that is all you want,
assuming your vanagon oil pickup is smooth.
Also, I did not use any of the tricks to help get oil
pump primed, no vasoline, nothing. I got oil presure
right away, your shaft on the oil pump is most likely
not enguaged with the intermediate shaft to drive it.
Let me know if you just want my new oil pump, we can
work out a price.
