I remember my friend relating an experience with the stuff. When he was
in Alaska, he talked with someone who was responsible for the "fleet"
for some oil related company. As an experiment he had Slick 50 put
in half of the trucks (small to standard pickups I believe) and the other
half left normal. He and the mechanics knew which were which. After
several thousand miles his data showed no difference in anything
measurable such as compression, mileage, oil testing, etc. The
mechanics agreed but added that the treated engines tended to be
less problematic, ran better, had a better "feel" or to that effect. Nothing
empirical or tangible. His conclusion was that it seemed to work
but there was no way to prove it! ;-D An interesting experiment which
he concluded it really wasn't worth what it cost for the unproven benefits.
