[Vwdiesel] stuck brakes?

Anyone ever have this happen to a clutch disc? About 20 years ago I bought a '56 Beetle ragtop that was sitting in a barn for several years. The engine refused to seperate from the transaxle. I ended up having to seperate the two by driving two steel wood wedges with a sledge, after lots of WD-40 use between the bellhousing aqnd crankcase. The clutch disc, pressure plate and flywheel had fused together. The disc was demolished by my forceful removal. No other damage done, though.
