[Vwdiesel] TDI conversion and AC compressor mounting

I'm making one final attempt at figuring out a way to run AC on the 98 AHU
TDI engine in my A1, 1982 caddy (rabbit pickup). Can anyone help me out?

The standard location for the AC compressor on the 98 Jetta AHU interferes
with the front cross frame below the rabbit's radiator. Both are run with a
serpentine belt.

On the original, 1982 1.6 diesel, both the AC compressor and the alternator
are mounted up higher on the side of the engine to clear the frame. Both are
run with a V belt.

Is there any combination of brackets, pulleys and belts (diesel or gas) that
would allow me to run the AHU's AC compressor and alternator with a
serpentine belt and get the compressor up high enough to clear?

Is there any combination of brackets, pulleys and belts (diesel or gas) that
would allow me run non-98 Jetta AHU AC compressor and alternator? (maybe with
V belts instead?)

Let me know if you have any ideas; if nothing works, I'll try to simply leave
off the AC and install a different length belt.

thanks,
