Thanks for the responses about the crank pulley bolts.  They're out!!  But I
did notice that on the back of the block just below my heater plug is
another hole and it had a drop of coolant sitting on it ready to drip.  What
is this hole??  Should I be concerned??  Also does anyone know how to check
the tension on the timing belt??  My book just states to use this VW tool
which I don't have or twist the belt between camshaft and fuel pump to 90
degrees.  I just want to be sure the tension is correct... it is the timing
belt.
