[Vwdiesel] Won't seem to start

[TexasTDI]

No such thing on an '86.

Do you have the seatbelts in the doors?  My '91 does (and boy do I HATE IT).
You can unbucle the seatbelt from the door, but the car won't start unless
the driver's side is buckled.
