Hi All,

I'm thinking about selling my 1991 ECO Jetta, the car that's carried me
faithfully on my travels throughout the 90's and that I'd planned to keep
forever. I now use a 2001 GLS/TDI Jetta for traveling, and my wife and son do
not share my affection for the 91. I've been using the car as a backup, but
the rest of the family would rather have something else....If ( " WHEN" says
the wife) I sell the car, I'd like it to go to a good home, at a fair price.
Question is - what's a fair price ?? Just the facts:

Mileage: 211,000. Sold originally in ATL, Ga., still here.....
* Black/4 door/gray cloth interior, no sunroof
* Interior suberb, paint looks great from 10 ft. away and cleans up well, but
there are rock chips, and other imperfections. Plastic looks good, has been
ArmorAlled regularly.Small,hard to notice dent just under trunklid. Original
AM ( great)/FM(dead)cassette(great).
* Recent Michelin MXV4's ( 195's on 5 spoke alloys)
* Recent 4 light grille w/ 55/60W h4 hi/low, 55W H4 fogs inboard. MASSIVE
improvement !!
* Always maintained ( original VW dealer and independent shop), all service
records, runs great. Details on request. I'm second owner.
* Clutch replaced at 156k -wasn't misbehaving, just being proactive. AC
converted to R134, quite cold.
* Radiator/cooling fans replaced ( again, proactivity - I travel a lot !)
* ALL shift linkage doodads replaced
* Oil consumption ? I think I add a quart every 1,000.00 miles ( .5 at a
time), probably more if I'm on the highway at 80 all day...Always starts
immediately, hot or cold.Oil/filter changes @ 3k, Castrol 20/50, OEM filters
always.
* Spares: Alternator, OEM rad hoses (  the weird/expensive ones), belts
* LOTS of life left ! It's now driven once a week, for 30-45 minutes, on the
highway, to keep it in shape. What's a fair price for this car ? I was
thinking 3,500.00, but I'm emotionally involved.
