I am happy he brought it up. When I wrote Dieselfuel 101, I mentioned that =
I would deal with veggie oil for fuel separately.Reason ? I did not feel I =
was qualified due to lack of experience,but I did want to sound the alarm a=
bout,this issue.    . So far I only used a mixture of diesel #1 and NEW Can=
ola oil , about 50 to 50 by volume.   However I do have lots of deepfryer c=
anola "varnish" in the kitchen. Add to that the knowledge of the inside of =
BOSCH pumps.So a word of caution if you use used oil in 1.6L and 1.5L VW di=
esels. Round up a spare pump for dino fuel only.Now to clean a pump if it s=
tarts to stick.I am still working on a off the engine way of cleaning.Remem=
ber there are lots of O rings  used   and the drive blocks for the governor=
 flyweights are (elastomeric drive coupling?) not metal  ---some kind of ru=
bber or plastic.Hope the Val Chistian connection has a chemical point of vi=
ew. Strong TSP and boiling will do the job.  By the way , price of fuel her=
e did come down ---but not all the way,it Is now 73.9  Canadian. pr Liter. =

PS:  Sure burn a lot more with this here new fangled Turbo stuff (I am Mode=
l T and dino oil vintage)
