I think Shell has some now as well, in Canada at least. Talking to the
chemist that does the blending for Shell in Calgary, the synth blends have
all the properties of a full synth with much reduced price. The 10-40SB is
60% synth for instance. I have treated this stuff pretty harsh and it
stands up well. Apparently Shell is the world's largest group 4 ester
producer, with the least amount direct marketed, most is sold in bulk to
other companies.
