Is there a decompression lever on it that you've found?
Old 2 cylinder John Deere diesels have a decompression lever that holds
the exhaust valves open while the starter or starting motor cranks it
over. That way you can get the (huge) flywheel turning and build up oil
pressure before the engine starts. I would assume that would be the
function here also?

The constitutional startup of stand- by power Gen. took place
today.(run it ones a year) Took the blottertest as usual. Oil is never
black on this one. On the machine is a label saying "Do not stop
using decompression lever"
Anyone know what that is about ??? It is a Lister 1800 RPM.
Direct coupled to Stamford 50 Kva multi wires brought out to terminal
board . 3 phase 600V on high. Trailer etc. . I am too old to ever
need it so if you are interested let me know. (it has been my toy)
Made by Swedish FLYGT. got full history and invoices. And Books. ah
yes it is a shaft mounted brushless exciter and solid state regulator.
plus battery charger. Trailer has levelling jacks.
Scott looks like you talked me in to keeping the turbo ---Shawn would
have got a nice engine for 500 bucks, otherwise. Does the lever
work on both valves ? or just exhaust ? . Hagar-
