Thanks to all who taught me a few things about my new/used TDI !

It's now solid as a rock, thanks to replacement of ( !!) a subframe bolt that
had ( dealer diagnosis ) gotten loose at some point and had " wallered out "
the hole. It was retorqued, but didn't fit properly, hence the Mystery Thump.
Charges ? Parts: 5.00 . Labor: 120.00......Better than 400.00 for strut
mounts/bushings, but...Suspension and front end components pronounced
healthy...Got my window lift/cable recall done also.

Next items: Are there any headlight upgrades for this Jetta ? Any foglights
that are worth looking into ? I'd be happy with just a better set of
headlights...

Rear rotors/pads: I have a few thousand miles left. Recommended replacements ?

This car is GREAT on the road. However, I find that I miss the tighter feel of
my ECO, 'cause the GLS/TDI is markedly " plusher" , and a tad slower to
respond....NOT a complaint, just an observation....

Sincerely,
Bill
