  Roy recently told me he makes 38 or 39 US with his Quantum.

  That was where I came up with these little 1.6 TD's needing 2 1/2 inch
exhaust.  Mine broke off at the turbo and my EGT dropped about 400F!
It was hard to tell if I had more power or not since I had NO exhaust and
it was a tad noisy blowing right on the firewall.  (Dasher TD)
  The turbo does seem to act as a silencer.  Try talking or listening to
someone through a fan sometime.  :)
