Here is one aspiring Diesel Wizard's point of view. "General discussion =
of VW diesel cars" was the guidelines from "Dan" ---but I really enjoy the =
"stories" from Lorens travels (he did not go by Ford ) and James Hansens "=
Metal 101" and to the rest of you who slipped in "goodies" (cookies ?) like=
Mark Shepherd --Val Christian --I do not intend to ignore anyone. you k=
now who you are if you sent in links of interest. So my vote goes for keep i=
t up as short as you can.Every morning I get up at 0500 and check the a=
rchives ----and the Email Digest .
I learned so much that yesterday vhen I fired up the first of the two OLD 1=
.5L NA it took of on first try.(YES I played the top banjo trick) Thanks t=
o you fellas yes the heatshiels are dimple towards injection nozzle and th=
e head gasket is right side up and the glow plugs are NOT torqued to 30 ft =
pounds. Had a ball running it sitting on a piece of plywood in the drive=
way -- previous owner mounted both of them on feet for testing.Last remark =
: I intended originally to download complete archive to use as a manual any=
time without going on line --so I voiced concern about being swamped by sel=
lers with for sale only and no stories. Have fun.
PS: 70 plus and still torquing dem headbolts LOL.
