[Vwdiesel] Fading red paint (long)

Yes, I've seen several references in 3rd party paint match guides stating that only the
metallic colours are clearcoat for this vintage. My other '85 is silver, and is CC,
although it's not original paint, repainted in '90 just before I bought it. Even the cheap
paint job has held up very well, mainly due to the CC I imagine.
Maybe I'll try a section of the car with some borrowed Mother's & wait a month before
I decide if it's worth the $60+ for the whole system.
