[Vwdiesel] Re: muffler and exhaust

Hi Guys
I have an 87 Jetta na 1.6 with no muffler, it is great. I put a new factory
down pipe and a Golf center pipe (no resonator), then a used TD over axle
pipe and a 2" Cherry Bomb resonator (straight through with louvres around
the outer diameter-probably filled with soot now) with a straigh tail pipe.
Throttle response is WAY better and top speed went up 10mph. Yes, it is
pretty loud but nowhere near biker levels. Fuel econmy also went up. I love
driving beside those rice cars in a beater diesel with that exhaust, they
really wonder....
