[Vwdiesel] Rabbits 1980 to 1984 . ( Keeping the heads COOL ! )

A lot of troubles with VW diesels can be traced back to heat.   Warped head=
s blown headgaskets   and so on. So as soon as I got snared by the first ra=
bbit  --- my aim was to keep the needle pegged at high noon.   Was successf=
ul with the first 3 rabbits -- all NA's.
Now I start again , this time on a 1984 Turbo 1.6L  Rabbit.
This one the needle hung on last mark before red (made me nervous). Can som=
eone tell me on the expanded temp scale what each mark represents in degree=
s ???.
Yesterday I removed the thermostat completely (80 C one) ----now the needle=
 hangs around mark 1 or two.----Also I replaced glycol with tap-water for n=
ow.     Thanks     Hagar.
PS: This one should be a piece og cake for Roger Brown (charlie brown).
