These are numbers I have heard over and over again for
stoke and bar on injectors.
On my 82 NA pump, specs on wall of Vanagon engine
compartment say .88mm +/- .05mm
My stroke is now set to .98mm
How does one know if this is too much? Look for smoke
or rich smelling exhaust?
I have turned up the fuel delivery just above factory
specs., this was done by my pump/turbo man on the
bench calibration machine.
So I could be burning to hot depending on the
injectors I am using?
I installed new 1.9L injectors which I believe to be
NA. If I ferbished part numbers could someone check
ETKA for me and tell me if they are NA or TD?
1.6L Hydralic head.(028 103 373 1)
1.9L NA block (stamped 1.9D 028 103 021 AF)
My GUESS work was the 1.9L block will use the
additional fuel, so turn fuel delivery up and use 1.9L
NA injectors.
Then increase the stroke to the high side of specs,
.98mm
Question, Is my parts match-up theory flawed? ANYONE
All the variables must be part of my hot start issue,
when a diesel is hot, should it not bang over in 1/2
crank? Mine does not, takes about 7 rotations to
start, 3 rotations if I pull the cold start knob.
Thanks
