  Our HS used to have one.  It was an old 5' or so O2 tank with the bottom
cut off and a spark plug in it.  It was on a trailer and they used it at the
football games.  A local welding outfit made and ran it.  They'd put a
garbage bag over the end and shoot it full of acetylene and probably some
O2.  When there was a touchdown or the end of a game, KA WHOOM!
Local whiners got it "banned" several years ago.  "It was scaring their dogs."
The first year after that they kept it mobile and would shoot from different
locations when notified on walkie talkie.  ;-)
  We have a "manual" pile driver on the orchard.  It's a piece of heavy 4"
pipe
with a 1/2" plate welded on one end.  I was looking at it one day and
decided to drill a flash hole in the end.  Put a plastic bag over the end,
shot a little gas to it and flashed it.  Made a nice bang so I put a little
more
to it with a little oxygen.  It scared me good!  I was shooting it out of a
car
port under my uncle's house.  I cautiously stepped out to look and see
if I'd blown any windows out of his house!  Haven't tried it since!
