This however is as Ringo Starr once said, 'A load of old crap'. The
headspace in the tank is 100% C2H2 and the pressure is about 150-200 PSI.
The real reason why C2H2 is not delivered at more than 25-30 PSI is that
hoses often contain air, and when air or O2 is mixed with C2H2 it will
explode at those much lower pressures.
I've also heard that copper or brass will cause C2H2 to go off ... most
regulators and plumbing however are guess what material?
