Shouldn't be a problem, I am looking at a trailer to hold 200+ gallons
of WVO (about 1600 pounds worth) to drive from Portland, OR to Costa
Rica in my '83 Volvo 760TD (which I just demonstrated, can "easily" tow
and stop a 6000lb trailer, for a total combined weight of 9700lbs on a
300 mile trip with the 110hp VAG TurboDiesel, and still average close to
25mpg at 55mph). It's fun to wave at Volvo semi-truck drivers as you
pass them up hills ;) My friends father has carried a empty 55 gallon
drum in the rear storage area of his 82 VW rabbit 1.6 4 door, so you
might be able to put it inside, if you beefed up the rear suspension
(heavier duty shocks, new bushings, and possibly spacers or taller
springs to keep the vehicle from bottoming out).
