I did the same thing in 1980 when I got a ticket for doing 86 in a 30 zone,
1/4 mile after leaving a parts store (with a time stamped register receipt).
I argued that the car was incapable of accelerating that fast.  It took 13 mos.
without an attorney, but I won.  People who know me never believed the ticket.
