Are you using any sort of pre heater for the oil?
I am close to ordering a Neoteric system, anyone out there have any
experiences they care to share?
I have an '82 Vanagon with a new 1.9 na.

Subject: [Vwdiesel] Veggie oil
I have recently done some simple tests on veggie oil bought off store
shelves
I bought 3 liters each of canola oil, and soybean oil.
Soybean was about $1:00 CDN per liter
Canola was about $1:30 CDN a liter
Placed samples outdoors in the cellarway at approximately freezing
temperature.
Soybean oil solidified
Canola oil stayed fluid at -10, didn't try it in the freezer yet.
50/50 soy and dinodiesel stayed fluid at -10
50/50 canola, same.
No signs of separation or clouding in either mix
I have burned both these oils neat in the jetta in the summer, with no
noticeable change in performance, but obviously neat soy will not work
in
cold weather.
I want to try "cold" starting performance of the canola (rapeseed) oil
come
summer, to see if new canola can be used neat without prewarming on
dinoD.
Will be trying the 50/50 mix as well.
Now want to find readily available source for new oil at reasonable bulk
prices.
Sandy
