Generally there are 3 to 7 bent valves.  The lifter buckets or likely
hydraulic
lifters, if so equipped, on those bent valves, are almost always damaged
as well.  I've seen one cam break from it.  The one dropped valve I've
encountered had nothing to do with the belt.  It just broke.  :(  I've always
been able to reuse the pistons, rods, head and usually the cam.  Figure
on valves, guides, some lifter buckets and the shims get smudged too.
It could be worse or a little better.  One would expect rods to bend and
they never seem to.  STOUT bottom ends on these things!  :)
