Thoughts from one long-time diesel freak and incessant lurker: It seems to me that we cannot separate oil from war- these are not off-topic ramblings- we choose to drive diesels partly because they are so conservative of the earth's resources and our hope all along has been that we would not get to this point, the point of needing to invade other countries to supply our oil needs, but SUV's and their mentality have become more popular than Rabbit diesels and look what happens.....

P.S. my extended family drives 9 VW diesels, ranging from 1980 to 1991, what are some of your total tallies?
