[Vwdiesel] piston rings

I am having trouble getting the pistons with new rings into the cylinders. I
made sleeves out of smooth crdboard and then a soup can, smooth of course. I
had a couple of zip ties compressing the sleeves and the rings contained
within. But, still having trouble. Broke one oil ring so far! SO, enough
screwing around. I'll go by the valve compressing sleeve from the parts store.
I relpaced the broken ring with the best from the old set. I hope I don't have
to do that again. Any tips? I should probably lub the cylinder lip now that I
think of it.
