[Vwdiesel] thermostat & water pump sources?

On my 91, I found OEM quality thermostats at Euclid Foreign Auto, a regional
speciality shop. I think I paid something like $9. The vendor name
started with "W", and the thermostat was identical to the one the
car shipped with. Regarding the waterpump, they were unable to help
me. Several pumps were ordered, and none were right. $170 at the
local dealer fixed that. 6 mo warranty.
I've told the story here before about the Stant thermostat that fell
apart, causing impeller blockage. To date, I do not have that
vehicle back on the road. Avoid cheap thermostats.
Good luck.
