The 020 bxes like the MTL oil, the newer 02A boxes like the MT-90. I've run both in my 020 box and while both work well, the
MTL is a lot nicer shifting and works better when cold (NorCal so never too hot or cold). MT-90 would probably be a good choice
for hot climates.
I've also run both oils in my Toyota 4x4 tranny and found the MTL does still shift better there, but its noisier in operation
than MT-90 and with the tranny just inches under the floorboards, quiet is nice. I get no noise fron the VW 020 gear box tho.
