[Vwdiesel] any leads on engines?

Here's my very similar list of original items on my '85 TD (originally a NA) with 482k
kms on all except TD engine, which has estimated 300-400k kms.

1. Trans, Redline MTL and 200K and 400K
2. Starter & Alternator - nothing except new VR on alternator
3. Booster, Master Cyl & Front calipers & one wheel bearing (finally going now)
4. Inj & Vac pumps
5. Radiator just went a few months ago

I did replace the fuse panel with a used one to fix a slow battery drain issue years
ago. It amazes my how the starter & alternator keep on going, especially when I see
later A2s barely make it to 200k. It seems Bosch quality has gone downhill since
'85...
