Try Bowwow (www.bowwow.ca), or www.busdepot.com.

Bowwow lists part # 321-959-481 D for the 86-91 Vanagon 2 speed fan
switch $18.95 CDN. There appears to be two temp ranges - 102/95C and
a 95/85C. The '83 may be the same - see if your part # matches...
