I researched this about a year ago and the conclusion was a 5 bar/80 psi gauge and sender was about right. I picked up a used 5 bar VDO gauge and sender (but the sender was trashed from removal with a pair of Vise Grips by the look of it). So I ordered
a new two output VDO sender (#360-006D) with the 80 psi analog output for the gauge and a 5 or 7 psi contact closure for the idiot light. It screws into the end of the head, in place of the idiot light sender. I have yet to get the gauge installed
(making a 2 or 3 gauge panel for the cubby hole in the dash) but the contact closure output works fine for the dash light.
