Do you still have the first three pumps?
A leaky cold start shaft is an easy fix.

The two end plates and the shaft itself are sealed by o-rings.
You can get these o-rings as part of the pump gasket set (for $25) or
individual rings by cross-comparing at a FLAPS. Make sure the rubber is
diesel compatible.
