My 85 didn't but then it went through three owners and a front ender
before I got it. My 5000TD has/had one. I pulled it off the first time I
went to change the oil and filter. Nearly impossible to do with it on.
Sure makes a difference in sound on Dad's Passat though! I'd like
one on the Rabbit for the sound deadening aspect. Might be nice for the
winter aspect as well. :)
