[Vwdiesel] Need 5 sp A2 Jetta tranny

Attention Canadians:
Looking for a 5 speed tranny to bolt right into my 88 Jetta 1.6L turbo
diesel

Seems I've developed a bit of a knock and it's not going away. No garage
here at home and no time to fix it myself anyway.  Junkyard wants too much
for a used one.  Anyone in Eastern Canada got one---cheap?

Will I need to supply more information as to what type of tranny it is, or
are the CDN A2 5 speed trannys all teh same for gas/diesel?
