You might try Goop (or similar) hand cleaner, the cream kind without any
grit. That stuff is pretty good at getting tough stains out. It is
also very good for renewing dried-out rubber parts!

Subject: [Vwdiesel] Ceaning sooty oil off beige paint
I recently purchased a vanagon with a tossed rod in the diesel engine.
When
the engine blew it sprayed black sooty oil all over the back hatch of
the van.
It then sat for several months outdoors uncleaned. The sooty stains on
the
beige paint are very stubborn. Any suggestions on a cleanr to use that
will
get out the oil/soot without marring the paint?
Andrew
