[Vwdiesel] Ceaning sooty oil off beige paint

I had Fantastik luck with Fantastik over the years .    But someone in this
forum warned that it softens some paints.

So be careful at first.      I have a beige Rabbit here that needs a paintjob anyway
so I shall do a test for you  It is my 1982 Rabbit.

Flagstaff baked on diesel lube ----- may be a hard clean .     Why do they throw rods ?
anyone know?        Just curious --- are they sudden failures -or did the driver have plenty
of warning  ?

My problem here is the NICE Maytag self cleaning stove ---- Canola caught fire --big mess.

The wiring on those Maytags is near fireproof. ---so was the top.  I was impressed.
Oven works for doing welding rods.  Let James Hansen or a welder if we got one
explain why they have to be baked.  (low hydrogen something?)
