[Vwdiesel] Big ends and boiled balls

Loren the big knockers was a reference to big end [or little end] wear and not 'detonation'... in which you are absolutely correct... Derek I've heard of this overpacking  with grease thing... but is it an uban legend? Surely any xs will escape in most cases. 
I have always been generous in my greasing of the taper bearings for instance and never noticed life shortening...
