Ah, another internet gang to hang with. As far as drilling out the 11mm block to 12mm it was just a idle "MacGyver" wired brain that had just woke up and was curious. Drives the
wife crazy. My dad and I can spend some time with a pile of scrap and have something useful built out of it. The piece in question is MIA. Chuck-- I think that engine had been
apart not to many miles more then the other one. Theory is that when the pistons met the intake valves there was a service limits overhaul done of the engine and the missing piece
removed at that time. If it hadn't broke clear to the hole that the oil pump drive goes thru I wouldn't worry about it. I might take it into work and see if maybe a friend there
can build it up enough to hold the bushing in place. The reason? Eastern Montana is a VW diesel dessert. It isn't even very gasser friendly unless you now the couple of people
that have collected up parts. Whenever you call the local wrecking yards they usually say sorry don't even have anything close. Thus the reason I have 3 derelict H2O VWs in my
yard.
