As you can see from threads the very first pump I changed was in a
1982 Rabbit 1.6L NA,. (Dec 2002).

First blood ---- any thing to worry about ? -----not a thing. Piece of
cake. Took about 30 minutes ? --- No special "BOSCH" tools needed.

And I am not and never was a Mechanic.

Little by little we get better at it --- like we do not remove all those clamps on the
lines any more. We remove as a unit. Good idea to have them in place when
driving. They dampen vibrations in lines. Sometimes lines break from fatigue.

Is a book a good idea ? --- yes. We the pump gang are hoping a BOSCH man will defect
and spill the beans. ---it will happen. There are some really good Robert Bosch
books out there. I am busting my ass trying to get hold of a pump specific
overhaul book. A good book to use is "Diesel Engine Management" by Robert.
edition.2

Hagar.

PS: Val Christian question ? : on your first Rabbit did the pump not
have a letter after the 107 ? ----- like 107 A.
