I agree --- alternators can be a PIA creature. At least we can get to the
thing on Rabbits. Try a Honda Prelude. Sandy Cameron let us know
what you call front and back ?
I had lots of grief over the years due to short brushes. One minute it
works next it quits. Stupid designs like the Honda and the 750 Yamaha.
I am on a trip on the Yamaha in the desert in CA and there is no way of turning headlight off.
On the Honda the fuel pump quits and there is no over ride button.
No way of getting off the freeway driving on battery.
Sandy I am surprised you of all people have problems with the bearings ?
There are certain Hillbilly ways of doing them and it includes heating and cooling
and very BIG hammers. And lots of little pieces of pipe. Get a good make of
bearing at least at the pulley end. SKF or FAG or so.
There must be something on Roger Browns page ???.
Hagar.
PS : Maybe I am just lucky with bearings ? Remember front wheel bearings ?
and yes too much grease in some bearings will ruin them.Rollers and balls must
turn. NOT slide around being pushed by grease.
