[Vwdiesel] Transmission/Gearbox questions...

the only thing i could picture looking like the
remains of an o-ring down there is part of the bearing
race itself. it is thin stamped metal with the ends
curved in to hold in the needle bearings. i'm assuming
that what you're seeing is the very remains of the one
end of the bearing race.
does any of that make sense without pics to explain
it? my bentley might have a good pic, or i could draw
something and send it to you offlist if that would
help.
just let me know.
