was the intermediate shaft 'bearing? race whatever' done/replaced
when the block was machined?
though that one typically, the oil pressure is ok at higher rpms...
just thought id toss it in there.. :o)

Hello,
New to the list and have enjoyed all that I have read. I have just
rebuilt
a 91 Jetta TD with the 1.6. It is bored .020 over and has new
pistons,
rings, bearings, well you get the idea. The head was done and is good.
The
problem I'm having is when the engine gets up to operating temp I have
zero
oil pressure. At cold start up with 15w-40 Pennzoil Long Life I get
20 psi
at the head port but at temp it is zero even at 3K RPM. This is
causing my
oil light/buzzer to go off and it is driving me crazy. I have put
1600
miles on the engine since I rebuilt it. Runs strong as can be. The
head is
getting so much oil that it is getting sucked out of the valve are by
the
breather. The head has been checked, the head gasket is installed
properly,
it is a new oil pump, all new bearings. Just no oil pressure at the
head.
The oil port at the oil filter has 70psi at 2K rpm. Has anyone else
have
this problem. How can I disable the oil light/buzzer? It gets
annoying
driving down the highway. Not to mention in town when there is no
engine/wind noise to drown it out.
Thanks
Nick
