If you have been a DIY for some time this thread will give you little
in the way of problems. If you just started be absolutely clean around
Pumps.
No test is more important to do on OLD Rabbits than this one before you send that
pump away. I was quoted 2500 Canadian for a Bosch overhaul -- on a 300 dollar
Rabbit ??? .
Test the pump internal pressure --- a piece of cake to do. Pressure not
there the timing will not work (dynamic).
Here is my tack : A bolt with long thread a spare inlet banjo -- a couple of nuts.
drill bolt lengthwise for fuel stack banjos so that orifice is on top. Inlet banjo
at the bottom --- hook gauge to bottom banjo and -- go a testing.
If you come up with a better way let us all know ---thanks.
All the overhaul places that I contacted gave a price + PLUS parts. And
it ain't cheap.
Hagar.
PS: lubricate lubricate lubricate that pump. I shall see if I can get
Roger Brown to post a little drawing of this nice little adapter, on his page.
Pictures of mine will be available. I use 1.5 inch gauges just in front of
windshield. Mounted in crack between hood and body.
Yes dumpster gauges one for turbo one for pump.
