This was always my favorite. I found it in 1995 and have kept a bookmark
since. And if you could take a Miata and put a 1.6 TD in it or maybe a
CRX-HF and stuff a 1.9 TD in it...performance, economy...

I have some large tires that I would like to put on my soon to be 1.6TD 
vanagon.  They only measurements printed on the tires are 27 X 8.5 R 14.
They 
measure out to 27" tall and 8.5" wide.  Doing my best at converting this
to the 
accepted standard measurement I get 215.9/76.5 R 14 or simplified 216/76
R 14.  
Can someone who knows doublecheck my math, I don't know if I'm
converting  it 
correctly, and would like to use a nifty RPM tire size calculator.  TIA
