Have you tried Goop (or the like) hand cleaner? It sure takes it off of
skin and they say it works on clothes. Loren, you shouldn't be working
on your diesel in "school clothes"! I would be in real trouble at home
if I did that!

Hmm because what youre trying to remove is the
solid carbon; it needs to be dissolved:
What about trying to turn it into carbon dioxide?
How about purging with clorine to turn it into
carbon tet. Nah 3 washes and you'd have a new
entrance in the garment...:o(
I like the sound of the first option :o)
Try a little hydrogen peroxide (h2 o2)
Try floating it of with clean engine oil?
