Looks like Alan wins the prize. I guess I'll mail you some cookies or
something. I scrounged up an old pentium 120 laptop with a raging 16 MB
of RAM, formatted the drive, did a bare-bones installation of Win95 and
it connected. I fought the car for a couple of hours and after clearing
out some random codes, it's now timed and well-nigh roadworthy. I want
to get a couple of shrouds back on it first and give it one last
checkover, but I think we're golden. My only immediate regreat is that
there's like no chance that that old laptop will run the Bentley CD.
That CD's pretty cool, but only registerable to one PC. The VAG-COM is
pretty cool too now that I can get into it, but I really think they have
to get past all the interference stuff. I have a lot bigger programs
running that don't seem to have that issue.
