Bart Wineland --- in the end you will be a WINNER. ----trust me.
Stay with this one a bit longer.
Compression is even ? ---good sign.
First get the cranking speed up --that is a MUST on a diesel . Then make sure to plug her in all night.
Then make sure to point the nose down if you are on a slope.
When trying to start fill pump to the BRIM ---using the top banjo hole.
Then move the pump in small moves advancing. You will be amazed what that does to starting.
Do not go to where she objects ---really noisy. Then Hillbilly TUNE for optimum pump setting.
Make sure the PUMP does not leak. I shall help you check the battery.
Start of with really skinny fueling for safety ---- then when the timing of pump seems right increase fueling . In small steps now . It is a tideous procedure ------ BUT the rewards ?
great feeling when you get her really singing. 1.6 NA ? let us know the number on pump.
if it is a 107 A let us know if it has a yellow dot.
Try to go by archives about how to free a stuck top ring.
Battery and starter plus glowplugs are important.
Hagar.
PS : Normal pump is a 107 AG.
