  A couple of really cold winters here (about 23 years ago and about 
5 years after that) my Rabbit and my '66 Mustang were the only two 
vehicles on the orchard (Dad and two uncle's households) that would 
start and run.  The Mustang would die if I let the clutch out without 
throttle even in neutral. (Hadn't heard of synthetic oil yet.)  The Rabbit 
by FAR was the best running in that temp though.  
  As I wrote this, the thought came to me, is it the car, or the owner 
that makes it start well in COLD weather?  ;-)
