[Vwdiesel] Brake Trouble Update

As I reported before there was suddenly a clanking sound coming from front left side brake housing when hitting small road bumps. Then an awful screeching sound when I used brakes. Seemed like excellent possibility of pad separation as suggested.
 
Well turns out the caliper housing was about to fall off! The upper bolt for caliper to wheel bearing housing was missing and the lower one was loose. I suspect that the bolts were not properly torqued as the previous mechanic, duh, (me), about 2 years ago may have attempted to use a long beam torque wrench, which could not be turned much due to clearance. So likely a 3/8 drive socket wrench was used for tightening. As a result the required 43 ft Lb torque perhaps was not met. Apparently no serious resulting damage to anything. Will be checking torque on the other side shortly. A good reminder to properly torque bolts.
