Oh one more thing. When I put the new rings in, I want to break them in on
straight 30 weight oil. But since it is winter and it does get down into the
20's it just doesn't stay there, Is running a straight weight like that ok?
I know that weight oil at 20 F does not pour well at all.


  I've always used 15W/40 for EVERYTHING!  Never had a problem with
break-ins from it.  I don't do an early change either.  I wait at least 3K 
miles before changing.  One of the old break in recommendations was 
if the rings hadn't seated, don't change the oil until they do.  I use 
it summer and winter so I don't have to change oil just because of the 
temp.
